no cutting required. you need to take out the air box to remove the resonator. it was a little difficult there's a bunch of bolts that are difficult to get to but it can be done if you got small hands. give yourself about 2 hours to do it, that should be more then enough time. I took it out from the top, but I think you can also get to it from below.

Or you could simply remove the Power Duct cover, take the cap off of a plastic bottle, wrap some electrical tape around it to make the diameter larger, and use it to plug up the resonator opening

I've datalogged with the lower resonator plugged and I've noticed no increase in MAF voltage (more voltage means more air flow).

Also, once you've removed the sealed portions of the airbox (Power Duct, airbox entirely, etc), the resonator will not work. It relies on the natural pressurization effect of the OEM airbox to work.

^^wait, so are you saying since i removed the power duct the resonator does not work? therefore there is no point in me removing the resonator since it doesnt work anyway?

Installed the JWT POP tonight and here are my thoughts after running the .10 mod for 5-days.

.10 Mod = Better sound from intake and exhaust. By better for me I mean deeper - the exhaust has more growl and at WOT the engine just sings. IMO sounds like a meaner 350Z.

JWT - Quieter at all levels, but louder than stock. My seat-o-pants meter says there may be a couple horses more.

Installing the MD 5/16 this weekend and will drive with both set-ups and post my thoughts.

looks kinda ghetto but hay what ever works...
