A true Dual Catback exhaust will have everything you need from the CATS back. Y-pipe, s-pipes - etc - all the way back to tailpipes and tips.

We recommend keeping your stock exhaust system and storing it for sometime, in case you don't like what you get and want to sell it, you can at least go backward at very minimal cost. As volume level and sound is very subjective and personal, not everyone like every system out there and everyone has their own desire as to what they want to hear in the end.

The best suggestion is to go a meet or two and really listen to cars with systems on them - even see if you can get test drives in the cars to really know how they sound.

With that said - check out the system at www.fastintentions.com and feel free to me anything you like. I am very open and have a lot of testing experience for most all of the aftermarket exhaust systems. Depending on the sound your after, and your overall modding goals - certain systems will work better than others.

A catback exhaust - is a full exhaust from the CATS back. A true dual means that exhaust maintains dual pipes all the way back, as opposed to others that mimick the stock exhaust with a single pipe, yet a more efficient muffler and/or y-pipe.

The most power is gained through True Dual setups.

If you didn't get a true dual - you would get a y-pipe, or another exhaust system, or a custom system made that is not True Dual.

True - Except, the Borla. The Borla is not really a True Dual System, even though it advertises itself to be one. To be a True Dual System, both sides must have separate exhaust paths from header to tip. Again except, for a "H" or an "X" pipe up front near the header, these increase low speed torque and smooth out low speed exhaust pulses. The Borla does have the "H" Pipe. It also has an "X" Type muffler that mingles the right and left side of the exhaust gases. All other dual systems that I am aware of have separate exhaust paths through one muffler, ex: the Invidia G200, or two separate mufflers, ex: the Stillen.

The Borla has 2 paths - they just share like packing for sound tuning in the muffler - so they are not COMPLETELY isolated.

True Dual - should have 2 muffler and 2 pipes all the way back with a balancer in the middle - such as the X or H pipe.

Would a 3" out Y into a 3" mid to a good dual out can give the best combination of torque/HP?
Good questions -

A true dual will outperform a single piped exhaust.

X and H pipes are key to balancing the system and will provide for additional HP and TQ as well as exhaust scavenging.

The FI Intimidator system, as with most will loose bottom end torque - however the FI system only looses it from 2050 - 2240 RPMs - barely 200 rpm's worth of loss in a zone you'll never notice or realize. The system gains everywhere else otherwise.
