plenum spacer ?wtf
So what are you going to do................?
So you've read up on the spacer, what do you think?
I have a 1/2" spacer and it was probably one of the
best mods I've done thus far. Being carefull and
organized it will only take you an hour to complete.
Just do it....................!

And especially if you use it with a popcharger or stillen intake. It makes it quite a bit louder and deeper.

If you have the manual, you could do either depending on your objectives.
If you primarily street drive, get the 5/16" spacer. If you are a track nut or spend a lot of time at high RPM and don't care about the engine cover get the 1/2" spacer.
See the dyno section of our web page. The 5/16" spacer on average makes more power over a wider RPM range but the 1/2" spacer makes more power at high RPM which is important to race applications. In any case, the power differences are small. ~1-2 HP. Both add considerable power at the top end and both will be effective for race applications. So for the most part, the differences are academic.
If you want a spacer to modify the induction sound, get the 1/2" spacer. It will make it deeper and louder. I don't know exactly how to describe the sound other than to say it makes it interesting. You can hear deeper into the engine...
The 5/16" spacer will do this too, but not as much as the 1/2" spacer.
It specifically states in the Motordyne instructions that YOU DO NOT have to reset the ECU if you installed it properly!!! The only reason you might need to reset it is if you happened to mess with the butterfly in the throttle body. Then you would need to do a throttle position ECU reset.
With that being said, I didn't reset my ECU either.
I installed the spacer this weekend, along with the Stillen Z-Tube, and I feel a slight difference. The car seems to be a tad louder (nothing obtrusive) from the intake side, a small perceived change in the exhaust note, and the car seems to pull a bit harder above 3500-4000 RPM. I drove the car on about a 70 mile round trip, mostly highway, and accellerated hard from the tolls. This is where I felt the slight perceived harder pull.
