I live in NY. Lets say I am just driving on the highway and I hit one of those puddles that make the water splash up, or its just raining hard itself and water is splashing onto the cai, will this ruin it, or do you actually have to let the filter itself go under water? I am looking to buy today and I am a bit confused. I want the best one but i also dont want to be afraid to drive everytime it rains. Please guys. I need help ASAP. Which should I go with. Also, I am not looking to do exhaust if that matters at all.

Your filter has to be fully submerged to suck up water....that means deeeeeep puddles. Just dont be doing WOT. Just driving around in the rain wont do any harm. Or at least it shouldnt

with CAI...if you see a puddle, dont try to gun it and run through it, just slowly glide over it timing it very slowly that you dont throttle the car while in the puddle. its better to be stuck in the puddle and get out the car to push it out, than to try to go for it and suck up water while trying to get out of it.

I just received the Injen CAI and will be installing it tomorrow, since I am waiting for the By-pass valve to come in the morning. My question is, will bypass valve eliminate the hydrolocking problem if ever it should happen that I dont see a puddle? Also, I am getting the SP1993p model for a 2006 auto coupe. Can this intake be made into short ram like truplaya has it, and if I do will it make a difference or am I just fine with the bypass valve? One more thing, does a cai affect warranti at all?
