^^hahahaha

anyway..im just curious about why the ssv isnt more popular if its all that some people claim. most of us will agree that it looks sick. so thats not an issue. but if it really does yield the gains some people are claiming then why dont more people get it? i realize that its expensive but im sure if it worked as well as claimed by some then more people would have it. just my thoughts..

I agree in part with what you say. There have been too many cars that have been "all show and no go". When I first saw the manifold, it looked like manifolds I had seen on race cars with the pipes forming ram tubes. I certainly agree that it could flow a lot of air and that should be considered when tuning for maximum power. I think the greatest drawback would be price, not performance. Good points though.

I loved my SSV - that's right - LOVED..

When I was NA, it worked great - with heads and cams, etc...otherwise, the MD spacer outshines it.

I'm now FI - and just took it off! I went back to the 1/2" spacer and stock lower plenum and ISO Thermal - the car gained 32 HP and 21 lbs TQ!!!

The SSV from what I found was not efficient at over 5.5lbs of boost above 5800RPM....

it's so funny to see someone freak out once they notice they've been ripped off on a part...

even the dynos from the 350z aren't enough to convince the poor man otherwise...

it's sad really.

rick,

so youre saying the ssv only worked well with heads and cams, etc.?

otherwise, without heads, cams, etc..the ssv does not work well on n/a?

is this accurate?

More or less...yes. On a stock car, the SSV did loose low end, but gained top end power. The MD solutions, gain all the way.

Once you mid the NA - like I did, the SSV worked great. Once FI and above 6lbs of boost - the MD and 1/2" spacer took over again.

I have a thread in the FI section that explains more...

"MREV2 and 5/16 copper iso thermal shipped to 79416 please." Look familiar dude?

Hmm. This might explain your hostility towards the Kinetix SSV. Would that be Lubbock, Texas?

Well since the poor guy didn't really do his homework and got the SSV, no doubt he's stuck with it for now.

So lets try to help him with what he has.
My suggestion to him would be, get a Dyno tune and get the A/F correct or at the very least, reset your ECU and it will learn the mod sooner by adjusting the A/F with it's oem chip A/F mappings.

Running lean is a hp/tq robber and an engine killer over time. Not to mention your exhaust valves getting possibley burnt.
