intense power y-pipe thoughts?

The JIC Y is far better. The pipes actually join before the collector and the collector is large. This allows for a decent level of pulse equalization and scavenging...though not anywhere near a true dual and X pipe configuration.
If you have plans of doing CATS or headers, going FI at all, or building more NA - DO NOT waste money on a Y-pipe - just go true dual catback and be done with it.....in other words, save you money and do it right the first time.

Even with the JIC compared to the Intense, how much gain do you expect between the two? I would guess < 4whp. If you have a midpipe back exhaust and aftermarket cats/test pipes, then even the Intense Y-Pipe will help because of the larger diameter piping. Regardless of JIC's straighter pipes, airflow is limited to back pressure of the exhaust system. If someone were to do flow testing of the two types, you're not going to see a significant difference...not worth the money difference anyway.

bumping and old old thread.
I'm lookin at gettin a y-pipe and was considering intense power's. It seems the consensus here is that it is a waste to get a y-pipe? i haven't found any dyno's y-pipes only to compare. I'm guessin it's more for sound.
I've always heard more free flow, more top end hp and loss of torque. so my reasoning for getting an intense power y-pipe is to balance free flow with a 3" y-back exhaust (i'm gettin a Fuji) and keep some low end torque. Is my logic way off? of course we'll never know without dynos. i just want to know what everyone else thinks.
