Greddy SP2 Exhaust?

I was wondering if the Greddy SP2 exhaust has any gains in horsepower?

its just a muffler. save your money for a real exhaust.

i dont know about horsepower gains but it does sound more aggressive and racy after 3k. I like it because it doesn't have that low drone that the stock one does when you get on it. its a bolt on system that replaces your muffler, yea it doesn't replace all the pipes from the cat back, but the tubes arent overly restrictive in the first place. i wouldn't expect a bunch of horsepower, mostly sound. some backpressure also isnt' a bad thing, you could lose torque on some systems (ie Borla)

the greddy isn't a 'real' exhaust? you say it like it's some pos that doesn't rate. ive had hks hi power, stillen exhausts that cost upwards of a grand and they don't do much different other than sound and looks...bottom line is, it aint going to make much difference unless he goes FI. i have hi flow cats and down pipes but i dont want to install them because of the noise increase relative to any hp that could be gained, it's just not there. better to add a plenum spacer and save a ton of money over replacing the entire exhaust imo...

Its a smaller, lighter, higher flowing muffler. If you dyno it, it'll probably have about the same HP gains compared to other exausts. Our stock exhaust is already very high flowing. If anything, I think our stock exhaust system bottle necks at the cats... and not the muffler.

+1 its definitely lighter and higher quality. i remember lifting the stock one after the greddy and it was a big difference. the resonator is also chrome which looks pretty nice from the back

stock exahust + HFCs/test pipes + a good y pipe will do wonders for our cars

and of course its smaller/lighter than the stock muffler. the stock exhaust is flippin heavy as fvck

paul, although your exhaust does sound nice, i cant say i agree with you. most aftermarket exhausts for our cars are true dual. so while youll probably lose some down low youre more likely to gain up top. i just dont see how a muffler alone can do much performance wise. and if this is true...i wonder how much hp my tenzo racing muffler gave my 99 corolla.

i could be wrong..but thats jmho
