Dynoed with Utec

I've been itching for some more power lately, so a few weeks back I finally decided to go with a Utec.

I've dynoed on 4 separate occassions now. Bone stock, I did 233whp/230wtq on a dynojet in May '05. In August '05, I dynoed on the same dyno with only my Crawford high-flow cats and did 224whp/223wtq. In August '06, I dynoed on a different dynojet at 241whp/236wtq with the Crawford plenum, FI resonated tp, and HKS exhaust.

Audiblemayhem (Jeremy) just opened up Performance Factory here in Orlando, FL back in December. As soon as I found out he was opening a shop, I knew I would be throwing a lot of money his way. Knowing he is a perfectionist, I knew he was the only person I would want tuning my Utec. The cheapest price anywhere also helps

I dropped off my car at 9am and let him do his work. I returned at 4pm to pick up my car...and it had a whole new powerband How about 15whp gained throughout the entire RPM band! He also made my A/F ratio perfect...I was running sooo rich. Last, but not least, he raised my redline to 7100 rpms.

Mods: Z-tube with K&N filter, Crawford plenum, Crawford high-flow cats, HKS exhaust, and a Utec to bring it all together.

Before/after hp

Before/after tq (ps...I can't stand how I've never been able to dyno and have a perfect dyno read out all the way to redline The numbers were 236/250wtq)

you have to consider it was probably hotter the second time he dyno'd in august

and it is possible that some mods take away power without a tune

Well, when I dynoed stock, I believe the temperatures were in the 60s. I dynoed with the high-flow cats in 90+ degree FL summer heat. So that had a lot to do with it.

And just for a good fact...I had my Crawford high-flow cats removed in place of the Fast Intentions resonated test pipes back in August. I did a before/after dyno on the same dyno within 6 hours of eachother. I gained a whole 1whp throughtout the RPM band. That just goes to show how well the Crawford high-flow cats flow. I'm once again a happy owner of the Crawford high-flow cats since the day my Utec was installed. The rasp, smell of gas, and extremely minimal hp gains were not worth the $400 test pipes!
