I bought mine online and after shipping it was about $50 but I didn't have to run around town so choose your poison The frequency of cleaning and re-oiling really depends on the conditions in which you drive (i.e. dusty areas, lots of smog, etc) so you could go as long as 60K miles or maybe you would have to clean it at 30K. million mile warranty is pretty impressive.. virtually means a lifetime... who drives a million miles anyway? have any of you seen this? most cars will clunk out at a little over 100K.. 300K at most

Million miles or 10 yrs, I believe. The million mile is pure marketing, realistic warranty is 10 yrs.

another question on the k&n filter for previous users. anybody notice any oil from the filter getting into the engine or throttle body? i read about this on the blitz site and was wondering if this is true or b.s.

You need to be careful not to over apply the oil. Some MAF sensors like Nissan's are very sensitive to this.

 

hm.. hopefully, they pre-oil it correctly. i just took mine right out of the package and didn't really think about the oil until later.. but it's not like globs of oil, but not sure how much actually can get pushed into the engine when air passes thru.

Pre-oiled is probably okay. It's when ppl clean their filters and re-oil that too much oil is applied (usual thought that if a little is good, a lot must be better to be safe).
