Yet Another But Hopefully Different Stillen Exhaust Question

There are enough threads on the forum about the Stillen true dual exhaust that I could look for days but not sure I could find my answer!

Has anyone "blacked" out the mufflers so they are not so noticeable under the car? I have an 04 Caribbean Blue coupe w/ the stock rear valance and I want to add Bat's rear valance overlay but I do not think the shiny stainless would look nice hanging below. I am currently running the stock exhaust and like the sound of the Stillen but not sure I could live with the looks of the mufflers.

Would appreciate any ideas or photos of cars that may have addressed this issue.

Thanks!

Don't know too much about it but a buddy of mine powdercoated his exhaust on his wrx and it began to chip like no other. Worst thing he had ever did he says.

papiloco21,

Do you happen to have any rear photos of your car w/ the stillen exhaust installed that you could post or send me?

It's diffrent all right................!

The factory exhaust muffler is black.........Stillen spends a great deal of $
polishing those nice mufflers so they'll look good under your backside.
Why...........would you want to do such a dumb thing? Leave you OEM
exhaust system on if you want that look!

papiloco21,

Thanks for the pictures. I really appreciate it.

gary c,

Everyone has there own taste. I just do not like the extra attention it brings from a visual point of view. I prefer to obtain the extra attention from the sound.

Logical. Not all of us are into polished metal, particularly on a car like this.
Just let it get dirty and it'll be less flash. I, like you, bought it for the sound and slight perceived increase in performance.

I actually tried to find some smaller tips as well. Still working on a solution there. . . .
