Ok ok ok, before you guys start in on railing me... I did do some research, and normally wouldnt even bother asking...

But I found this on ebay, and noticed what a striking resemblance it has to certain other manufacturers exhaust for very good price...

the sound clip is poor quality, but looking at the pictures it looks like a very good knockoff... I mean welds and such look BETTER than hks hipower.

Anyway, I know the drill about 40k$ car, nad cheap exhausts, I was just curious if anyone toyed with this?

Also, if not, is there something you guys can recommend for right around 500$? I dont want rediculous drone on the fw or anything just sportier than stock exhaust =)

If you want it go for it. It looks nice and It doesnt sound that bad. But it is $700 shipped. You can get a better system for a little more. I found the claim of 20-30 hp increase to be hilarious but it is ultimately up to you. No one on here will be driving your G so get what you want. Good Luck!

 

Oh yeah well you know how exhaust hp claims go. Anyway, I'm familliar with the company nd some people have had good luck in the subaru world. But yeah, I wasnt aware it was 135$ shipping.

hm... for 6/700 i don't think you could get a decent exhaust NEW. You could prolly pick up a used one for around there... But before i picked up my Fast Intentions Exhaust I was looking at the Invidia G200. You can find it for $870 shipped so if you are willing to spend another bill or two

 

20+ hp gains? haha. good luck with that.. exhausts just release exhaust pressure... they wont really increase HP by that much unless you go with forced induction and have an exhaust that will allow the excess flow the turbo needs.

but on a n/a engine,,, exhaust, intake, header and bat overlays will not increase Hp by any huge amount.

 

i was shopping that exhaust a few months ago. looked at the guys feedback and messaged someone who bought it. He put it on his 350z and said he likes it and has no complaints.
I found a good deal on something else and decided against it.
it all depends on what you like. if you want something that sounds a little different than stock, go for it. You don't have to buy a $1,700 HKS exhaust.
if this particular exhaust sounded good, looked good, costed $1,500 and a lot of people were buying it, it would be a popular exhaust to a lot of members on this forum.

 

that exhaust rediculously close to the HKS, seems like the guys who have the HKS are stompin on it because they spent double. Lets face it guys unless you're spoolin up, exhaust on our car maybe makes 5 whp. You're basically payin for sound, quality and a WARRANTY

 

for now I leave the big power to the STI, cant afford the turbo kit, or sc at the moment... just looking for something throatier than stock. Not necessarily trying to be cheap, but seems like > 1000k seems like a rediculous price considering what it costs to make. Hp gains in this purchase are no matter so long as hp isnt going down =) Any other suggestions? I've got no problem buying used, however seems like exhausts in the marketplace is a very slow moving forum... not a whole lot of activity going on there.

 

yeah definitely don't get it. Usually ebaymotors = BAD. Go for the real thing or something else.

 

None of them are and I'll guarantee that. HKS does advertise a 12 whp increase. You're just mad because you bought the greddy one and didn't spend the extra couple hundred for the hks one. hater.

just an fyi, you could always get the fast intentions duing their group buy sale and its unbelievably cheap for their exhaust and the performance nad sound.
