Jwt popcharger heat shield
I've searched and found a few answers But I'd like to get some more opinions.
how affective is the heatshield?
and
Would I run a risk if I didn't use one?
Asking these questions because I bought a popcharger but the guy is keeping the heatshield. Thanks for the help

You won't run a risk w/o it because there are many plain cone intakes that don't have it. But you won't get the benefits of getting air from the oem colder air sources either. If you can find one, I'd run one.
At speed, you might be okay. But in traffic or at a light, your ambient air temps where your intake would grab air will climb high, very fast.

What does it matter now?? You already spent the $ and probably can't return it. Deal with it.
But if helps, I got an used complete stillen air intake w/ sheild, Z tube and extra maf housing for $80.

everythingG35.com sells the pop charger kit for $109...so you got about $30 off for not getting the heat shield.

If it was used, then you may have paid a little more than what I think is fair. I would have sold you mine for $80 with shield. Oh well, the shield is not that huge of a deal, although it helps some with redirecting colder air. You could rig a custom setup just as easy.
