headers or exhaust?

I did a search but couldn't find any definitive info, I was hoping someone might be able to shed some light for me before i drop some coin on my G. Which is going to get me more HP? HKS hi power exhaust or nismo headers?

I currently have nismo cai, motodyne 5/16 spacer, crawford cats.

I wanna get the best bang for my buck, and would like some good advice.

thanks

headers then exhaust then tune. honestly i think the exhaust is mostly for sound and since you have all the intake mods done i would do headers. the stock exhaust sounds sweet with those mods and actually flows decent. you'll keep all the low and torque and once you pass 3k rpm your car will really pull.

cost benefit wise I would go exhaust because installing headers will cost you a lot of money than a simple bolt on exhaust swap. If money isn't the issue, then go with the headers.

i mentioned headers cause i got mine installed for only $200!...i forgot about the installation cost on headers. but honestly if money isnt a problem then go for headers. you'll love the deep burble from the engine as it warms up

Well, either way it doesnt matter. If you get headers, an exhaust is a must to allow the flow to continue throughout. Good thing you have HFC, or else the headers would be useless; bottleneck effect.

Always work your way from the back of the car to the front with exhaust.

Just like Calvin said - catback, then HFC's/Testpipes, then Headers...you can do them all at once but for sound reasons, do them one at a time so you don't end up with too much sound for your liking and a bunch of money down the tube. Also, listen to some setups out there in person for the best test prior to buying.

i dont have hfc or an aftermarket exhaust but i do have headers. imo the headers arent useless at all...they have given me a really nice increase in power...next to my spacer this was the best mod i have ever done. but i will say they would provide even better gains if i were to match them with hfc and an exhaust...but then we're talking tune and thats something i wanna avoid. plus ive gone through 3 sets of hfc and they all make exhaust sound like **** imo (lots of buzzing/rasp) so i dont bother with those anymore

thanks for the input guys, i appreciate it...i decided to go with the HKS catback for now, and am gonna do Nismo headers and cams at the same time later. Maybe to a UTEC and then migrate to a Vortech tuner kit. I'm on the fence about FI since I know it can hurt reliability but the thought of 400hp makes me all warm and fuzzy inside . Do any of you guys have some advice on a good tuner in the socal/LA area that deals with UTEC? Anyway thanks again.

Cat back then Headers...
I have Z-tube/ K&N drop in and MREV+ w/ 5/16 Spacer before I got my exhaust....
The car runs much faster after I got my exhaust installed....
The exhaust really release the potential of my other mods....
