Exhaust flow/break down/upgrade/performace.
I am looking into upgrading my existing G35 exhaust. I have decided to go with Stillen. From the threads I have read aftermarket headers & HF Cats are not worth it when considering money spent and longevity. So now I have decided to possibly upgrade the Y-pipe depending on YOUR feedback!!!! Question, The Y-Pip is the piping that leads from the Headers to the CATS correct? If so, What are the possible gains for adding an aftermarket Y-pip?, What are the differences in OEM-Y VS Aftermarket-Y?, What are good brands out & does Stillen make a Y-pipe? Thank You!!

Something to consider, if you haven't - is the Fast Intentions catback and HFC's. The combination puts out 20HP and 18TQ - and some have even dyno'd higher.
Unless you go with a 3" single, or a 2 1/2" dual - y-pipes and such will yield you pennies for HP. The FI HFC's, on a stock car with stock exhaust, made about 10HP and 9 TQ. So HFC's are NOT a bad investment, when most catbacks produce the same result.
Let me know if you have any questions. I don't want to seem like I am only selling you on FI products, vs. the technology.

i've posted this once already, be careful with the stillen exhaust when combined with headers AND test pipes OR race cats, after investing some $$ in both I went back to stock cats because the stillen system picks up a serious rasp from 3500rpm to about 5500rpm when running headers/free flow cat system. I loved the power that I felt with the "no restriction" system, but couldn't stand that honda sound . . . fyi

Thanks Rick. You have been allot of help. I may purchase the Stillen exhaust soon. What are your impressions of this system?. I love the sound of the Stillen & would even consider other brands if the tone is the same. If I can get the same tone, but louder I would be happy.
