exhaust for Turbo?

what type of exhaust would be best for a Twin Turbo application? im hoping to get TT someday, but i want to get an exhaust now. BTW, this is for a sedan. i have heard that a single pipe system would be better. or perhaps a straight pipe with test pipes but that definitely wouldnt pass smog. how do you guys think the Stillen True Dual would be for TT?

I asked the same question when I toured Stillen's manufacturing facility.

Both the Stillen Sedan & Coupe exhaust systems are designed for the additional gas flow provided by forced induction.

Large piping ... 3" is good...some big turbo Supras use 4" piping.

Re: exhaust for Turbo?

Bigger the piping the better. You want the freest flowing exhaust. I heard the Borla was probably the best as it loses HP and Torque at low RMPS witch means that it is VERY free flowing since the car lost HP due to no backpressure!!!

Hope this helps...

Re: exhaust for Turbo?

so that means no on the stillen true dual then? isnt that like 2.25 inch or 2.5 inch. hmm, maybe i should do a custom job. i know a place that will build me a straight pipe type exhaust for 6 bills. quality work too. 3 inch all the way through. throw on some high flow cats. maybe i can shoot out flames. is this logic correct?

Re: exhaust for Turbo?

I'd recommend the Fuji exhaust,w/ the "Y" pipe, and race pipes, the Fuji is a full 3" and will flow more than you will need even w/ the TT setup. The big Pupras w/ the 4" exhausts have big single turbo swaps pushing well over 700+ whp ie. T88's, T72's, or maybe Twin 3037's. And our G's will never reach that kind of play. Good Luck!!
