anyone have any idea where to purchase just the stillen heat shield? i tried getting it from stillen but they wont sell me one cause i dont have a stillen intake. i have a popcharger and its hot as hell where im at right now (s.texas) and i want to get a better heat shield. if anyone has any idea please let me know. thanks

 

The heat shield is to protect it from engine heat, not ambient air heat.... Not saying that it still won't help!

Keep in mind that when ambient temperatures rise, the difference between intake temps and engine bay temps decreases, so the relative effectiveness of the mod is decreased. It'll still help, but you'll see higher gains in cooler weather, obviously.

I think you could hack up the stock airbox to house the popcharcher filter if you are really concerned

you will not find a Stillen heat shield without their filter and ventury (velocity) ring unless someone is selling their used one... I've never seen anyone sell their Stillen heat shield but many have sold the JWT heat shield to keep the pop charger and install the Sillen heat shield. You'll just have to buy the entire Stillen intake... look at it this way, you'll have two filters that you can swap out when it comes time for cleaning...

 

stillen will sell the heat shield case but for 80 bucks

 

thats something new... they must have figured with all the requests they were getting they might as well do it... They wouldn't sell it without the filter before...

all it is the stillen heat shield with a pop charger... its no dif than the Stillen other than the cone filter has a hole/opening in the nose. It will look exactly the same when installed.
