Regarding stock intake

I just recently swapped back in my stock intake, im getting a stillen sometime very soon.

Theres a part of the intake that i pretty much left...off heh - not sure where it goes, anyways - i noticed on the stillen intake theres that same hole and now im wondering what its used for and if i even need it.

heres a pic for reference - its the center piece, that round hole on the bottom section.

not positive, but I think there should be a rubber gromet that goes in there for placement. I would have to double check though...

the piece that i have left over fits that hole....its kinda like a catcher of some sort - with a small hole on the bottom, only thing i could THINK is to drain ...water...which shouldnt be in that "intake" area in the first place!

if anyone has any idea what its for - or if i should worry about it let me know =P

It's a sound baffle, like the stock tubes have. If you don't use it, it will be a little louder, but promote heat soak as well.

You can cap off/seal the hole and not use as well.

Get a 1.5" plumbers plug. Rubber gromet, about 1.5" diameter and 1-2" thick with a blot running through it. You tighten the bolt and it expands - sealing the hole.

They run about $3 at Lowes.
