Is it worth doing intake without exhaust?

But you wont get any gains from it, will you? Wouldnt the filter get dirty faster? Plus, the powerduct seems to work great as it channels all the air directly to the intake

I put my powerduct back on after a few months without it and I didn't notice a single difference in terms of sound. When you close your hood, without the powerduct, hot air will be able to flow into the opening. When you have the powerduct on, it closes the gap so it lessens the hot air from the engine bay from going in.

Whether or not it makes a difference in performance, I don't know. But I'll be leaving mine on.

I have a Stillen Airbox by the way.

Question

Getting back to the original questions. What I realy want to know is it worth putting on a intake and filter without exhaust? What kind is best? Oiled filter or dry? What to do to the exhaust? Best mufflers? Do you take the cats out?

I think it's because yours isn't an 03/04

For some reason, anybody with an 03/04 says they can hear a difference w/ it off; those with 05+ can't. It's odd because I don't know what changed between the model years to account for it, but on an 03/04 you can DEFINATELY hear a change (it's much louder & deeper)

It's the high flow plenum design of the 6MT 05/06 Rev-up cars that somewhat deadens the induction noise. I noticed the same thing when I swapped intake manifolds on my VQ30 Maxima. When I added the high flow intake manifold, my intake lost quite a bit of induction noise as well as some low rpm punch.
