Help with CF z tube on sedan with jwt pop charger

I don't know if the coupe bay is smaller hence didn't post in the intake forum.

Basically I have the 350z tube and jwt pop charger on now. Like this:

I had picked this up off ebay:

The ebay auction had it installed and looks like this:

My problem is the rubber mounting that came with the CF tube is not long enough to attach to the MAF sensor tube. It is short by approx 1 inch.

I need to look for my stock rubber mounting (from stock airbox) which could work. Otherwise how can I install the cf tube?

And another q - tried to get the z tube off today. The top part near the throttle actuator would not come off despite loosening the band clamp. Im quite nervous to apply a lot of force to remove it. Any tips?

was it from a reputable company on ebay? If not, thats why you don't buy stuff off ebay. In order to get it off, the clamp should be loose and you just wiggle it and it will slide off. However, I am not quite sure what you can do in order to get it to fit. The coupe and sedan are both the same size so that's couldn't be the issue. I would ask for a refund and go ahead of get it from somewhere else.

Also, post pics to show how close it is to connecting. Im sure if it's somewhat close, you can work with it and get it to fit

Yes it was quite reputable. I found my stock tubing so will try to fit it on tomorrow i.e. if the old z tube comes off!

lol it should. Just work with it for a little and it should come off. If you can get the stock rubber fitting, I could see it working. Post back when you figure it out

Hi,

I believe I ordered the same CF Z tube from ebay. Is it Hollow and Flimsy? Mine broke within 1 month. The tube located on the top isn't designed properly and it's design quality sucks major A**. The part that broke on mine is the inlet tube located on the top. It's glued in! not Formed into it. Our tube that connects to it has to go through some kind of weird "limbo" process to get it connected. Then on top of that I had to CUT 2 1/2 INCHES off this damn thing for it to even fit for the sedan. I contacted the supplier on ebay and let him know how much of POS Product he has and they never responded.

Mine was the same way. I think there are different ones made for the G and Z. It's tight but you should be able to get it on with no modifications.

But, mine was the actual UTR one, not from ebay so maybe it's that far off.

No mine is exactly the same length as the stock 350z one.

05Blkg35man - I think you are referring to this one which I avoided on ebay like the plague:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-G...spagenameZWDVW

This is mine: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=370003038200

Mine in terms of quality is excellent. I think its the rubbing moulding that is short and since I found my stock one I will give it another shot at install in the morning. As for the inlet to connect the vacuum hose, mine is formed in and actually rotates around so you can fit the vacuum hose in nicely.

Someone else had a problem with the other ebay z tube - the long one:

how did you get the emissions hose to fit? the emissions pipe on my CF z tube is a bit bigger than the regular z tube emissions pipe and hence the emissions hose wont fit on it.

this is my only problem now. if i cant connect the emissions tube, ill have to drop the plan!

Nm guys. I gave up. The emissions tube would not fit.

Moreover, its a good thing i took out my stock z tube as I noticed its emission pipe was breaking off. A good round of super glue (3 layers) fixed it and back to the normal setup for me. I lost the emissions tube clamp though (fell on the most bottom tray in the engine) so had to put a wad of super glue on the emissions tube end as well!

Grr what a day.

The emissions rubber hose from the engine is smaller than the pipe on the CF Z tube. It cannot fit over the pipe hence

The hole (red arrow points to it) on the CF z tube is larger than the one on the stock plastic z tube.
