^i bought an AEM cold air intake. it has the long tube, the shorter bent tube, the filter, 2 bendable sleeve things (im bad with names) a bunch of fasteners, a filter, a water bypass thing, and a metal thing with 4 screws to attach to the plenum im guessing.. can someone just tell me how to remove the gtube and airbox?
G tube removes very easy
There is one screw by the plenum and rest are the hose clamps that you just loosen up and remove.
The air box is same way. I think there are two screws on it tho and then you just pull it up and it's out.
You can see it in this vid

One very important thing.
Be very very careful with Air sensor tube. It's that thing from which guy in the vid disconnects the wire harness from.
It's very easy to brake it (where it bolts up to the air box) and that fvcking thing cost $500 to replace. (tube is not sold separate from air sensor, that is why so expansive)
So when you pull air box out. Make sure that the hose is off that little plastic tube with sensor in it.
Also if you reuse any of the old hose clamps. Make sure you put them back in the grooves they were in in order to seal good

do you need the rubber thing that slides over the metal piece that goes into the filter? it makes it really tight and hard to put on, is this okay?

Intake install....!
Thanks to Joker it sounds like you're almost there. I have a Stillen intake so
it wouldn't be a help if I posted a pic. Make sure all clamps are snug and
your heat shield is installed. Wouldn't it be nice if someone would have made
instructions/pic available for your install? A company called MotorDyne is
about the only company that will give you good/informative instructions, and
that's just one of the reasons they're successful. Did you remove the negative side of the battery prior to install? Sorry I couldn't help you more!

Better yet.
After install remove negative side of the battery and keep it off for 12 hours.
That will reset the ECU and you'll get a totally diff car after that.

also when i was running it and driving around i hear a whistling noise.. kind of a "pssss" whenever i accelerate or rev the engine. is this normal???!
yes
That's the noise of air being sucked in through the intake
Still disconnect your negative from the battery overnight.
You got more air going into your engine now and ECU will take a while to adjust. But if you reset it it'll be much quicker. And your engine will perform better.
