JWT POP-Charger - Aluminum Bracket
JWT POP-Charger - Aluminum Bracket
I installed my POP-Charger last night and have the aluminum bracket left over. The instructions say "Install supplied aluminum bracket between heat shield and the original air scoop." I tried to fit it, but the air scoop side is not aligned with the hole that can be screwed. Was anyone able to install this bracket? If so, please describe where...pics would be a huge help.
** This is not the support bracket that goes from the POP-Charger to the body frame **
Thanks for your help,

Re: JWT POP-Charger - Aluminum Bracket
Sorry no pixs. When I installed my Popcharger, that bracket didn't quite reach also. I tighten the 2 bolts to frame. With the bolt that holds bracket to heat shield I left snug, but loose enough so the bracket moves. The heat shield is very thin & plyable. I lightly pushed on the inside of heat shield that faces towards the engine, till the bracket hole was over the bolt/screw hole of airbox. I started the bolt to the stock airbox(1/2 way). The bracket was at an angle. I tighten the bolt to the heat heat shield all the way. Then, finished bolting the bracket to airbox. After, I check to make sure the 2 bolts for the frame mount was still holding shield in place. Hope this makes sense & helps.

My eyes are going crazy because even though it's a back view, that picture seems flip-flopped to me.

stormxshadow - thanks for the pic
rrowen - thanks for the detailed explanation
I was able to get it on finally, extremely tight fit though. The pic is flip flopped, so it made me think, lol. Thanks again for the quick replies...I did the 12 hour ECU reset last night, so I should be good to go!

Re: JWT POP-Charger - Aluminum Bracket
OK my install must be totally wrong. I feel like I need something to hold the OEM air scoop closer and tighter in to the heat shield. The connection is real lose. I can move the heat shield and OEM air scoop around with minimal force, just by touching it. There is also a gap in where the set of rubbers meet. Could I be losing Hp due to this?
