Feedback please...

Re: Esprit Intake Manifold (Plenum)
WOW look at that gasket. That looks like the Intake Manifold (bottom half). Everyone here is purchasing the top half of the plenum, and keeping the bottom half stock. Does the Esprit change out the whole manifold?

And apparently, it fits OVER the stock gasket, just like the new crawfoed V5 does.

brnskyline,
As you probably know the "Esprit Power Intake Kit" is comprised of spacers. The blue components in the picture.
Here's the info off of Bulletproof Automotive's website.
"Esprit Power Intake Kit
(Intake)
Our Price: $541.45
List Price: $637.00
You Save: $95.55

I've never heard of anyone who has this modification. Danny at TechnoSquare said he's seen a couple of cars with the mod.

Re: Esprit Intake Manifold (Plenum)
Spacers for $500, R U serious? At least when you buy the kinetix or crawform, you get something that sounds kewl and looks kewl too.
I think they are selling some cool plastic tubing that increases the amount of coolant from your radiator to your engine keeping it much cooler and adding 10 HP. I think they are selling for $500.00. [sarcasm, for those who might not recognize it as such].
Sorry for being cynical.

Re: Esprit Intake Manifold (Plenum)
I don't have either crawford or kinetix plenum but this esprit "spacers" are appealing to me because it seems as if I will be able to keep the engine cover without cutting half of it off. This would give me a stock look. Now sure if it would sound as great as the crawford or kinetix like some of you guys say. Could you clearify if what I'm talking about is possible? (using the spacers and still being able to put the engine cover on without it touching the hood). Thanks in advance to whoever answers.

Re: Esprit Intake Manifold (Plenum)
Noa,
Hate to burst a bubble on this one, but if the Espirit Spacer raises the front of the plenum to a similar hight as a Crawford, you still will have to modify your cover to make it fit without rubbing. My guess it will be similar to what this post shows.

If you go for this mod please let us all know. I would be interested in hearing about the pro's and con's of this, as there is plenty of talk about Crawford (my choice) and Kinetix already.

Re: Esprit Intake Manifold (Plenum)
Check out these photos taken this Saturday. Crawford vs. Stock. Go to photo 8 and look at the black plenum on the right. Compare that to the stock one on the left. You think a spacer is going to give you that much lift, right... You'll get more height out of the back, which will cause air turbulance in the back of your plenum. This will cause the air to act "confused" and not flow as originally designed. I'd stick with the Crawford if I was choosing again. Definitely the best mod I've done by far.

Re: Esprit Intake Manifold (Plenum)
To me that spacer concept is a joke. I doubt there are any real world gains, and would be surprised if dyno results proved otherwise. The manufacturer of the product must be smoking some really good dope to be asking that much money for what looks like about $10 worth of aluminum.
