Megan Racing Exhaust & Y-Pipe
Hey Im interested in buying these Megan Racing Exhaust and Y-Pipe for my '04 Sedan. Its obvious these are very inexpensive parts and are not the best or most productive, but I dont have money for Stillen, HKS, Borla, etc.. Im a student and im on a budget. I realize they are not top of the line but thats ok with me. I dont want these parts though if they are crap. I really would just like to know your guys thoughts on them. Would you suggest them or not...

I have the exhaust, without the headers on my 03.5 sedan. IMO its loud! But I get compliments on it all the time. Here are some links to the sound clips when all I had was the cat back exhaust. Sound has changed now that I have megan y-pipe, injen intake, plenum spacer and pulleys. It sounds sick now just not quiet by any means. HP gains are nice but the 3" piping is ideal for FI so the more mods you have the better. Welds are ok to good, definetly strong, its very light weight esp compared to stock.
I had Megan headers on my NA engine for about 7k miles without a problem. I recently sold them to someone in Orlando when PF was doing the greddy TT install. Haven't heard anything regarding how they looked but the last time I saw them they were perfect.
IMHO they had problems at the beginning with their test pipes cracking. There have been numerous people who have used their products without a single problem. If you are getting their test pipes, you will want the new design that has the flex section and resonated pipes.

No, Megan Racing are cheap, and only people that own them will tell you it's not, you can even base your common sense by looking at the price, i know people with megan first hand experienced and they always say, whatever you buy megan now, you will switch out later, if you have something megan, buy the same part different brand better quality you would even feel a difference
So save your money and time now, and dont by megan! Sounds harsh but dont be cheap, but thats my opinion, good luck to you buddy

And if you think I'm cheap, take a look at my FI build - I didn't spare anything.

Why wouldn't you buy better products man, heck if I had Megan too, and it didn't cost me any problems yet, I would think its good too, im not calling you cheap, you can answer that yourself, im just wondering if youre not cheap, why you buy megan haha, when theres better things? And you went FI? Alright man. To the O.P, dont buy Megan unless you're on a budget, there is really No reason to buy it unless you have no money or just love megan for some odd reason

i understand what your saying but im still in highschool and i play 2 sports.. i dont have much money cause i dont have time to work.. ill make around 3000 this summer and i dont need to spend much more than a grand. my plans were to buy a pop charger with z tube and get the megan exhaust and headers.. with the installation and tune up i was hoping to be right around 1000 or so. now you see why i gotta be cheap?... but i totally agree with you that if their poor quality it dont want them at all.. thats why i posted this formum.. just to learn
It really depends on the shop, it can range from 250-400 status or sometimes even more. I understand how you feel, in high school no money just trying to have fun with the car, been there done that, if I were you, just keep saving bro, and buy something a tad more expensive and you wont regret it, but if you really want them asap, go get it then, me even if anything doesn't cause any problems, I would rather have something expensive/better brand in my car for the peaceful thought of mind, and just to say that I got it
Honestly your best bang would to buy their test pipes and exhaust. Headers don't show any gains on our cars like they do on others.
Get the exhaust, test pipes, and a 5/16 spacer and call it a day.
