Re: High flow cats

RT Cats have been measured at 90% flow rate, where straight pipes (no cats) measure 100%. Do a search on my350z.com for more info. Kinetics measured LESS than RT, but I won't quote a number because it might start a war.

Again, do the search (if it's working).

Re: High flow cats

The man asked a question, we don't need to start no stinken' wars. I have and luv my Crawfords. I believe they flow a bit less than the R/Ts, but have no rasp. They sound very mellow, and I can feel the kick in my butt. The workmanship was excellent, and they fit like a glove. I can't recommend them highly enough. Also, the Crawfords and the Kinetix would probably pass a visual inspection and the R/Ts probably would not. JMO.

Re: High flow cats

The Crawford's are $427.50, shipping was, I think, about $15.00. Not a bad deal, considering, IMO, these are the best cats out there. Would I recommend the plenum you say. I certainly would! That was the first mod I made to my coupe. It pulls strongly to redline. Both are certainly worth doing. However, IMO, I would do the plenum first (along with the "Z" tube). I also have a POPCharger.
I've attached a photo of my plenum installation.

Re: High flow cats

I have the same question. What did you use to cut your stock cover? Also how much would you charge if I sent you mine to have it cut like yours? Uh o! Another business with people who own the V5. Mine is coming in soon. Back to the Cats, well, no cats with this, but what does everyone think about installing the Helix Downpipe?

Re: High flow cats

I used a dremel tool to cut the cover. I first used cardboard as a template, which I traced around the plenum, then transferred the marking over to the cover. I then cut the cover oversized (you can remove material, but you can't add it). Once the first rough cut was done, I kept refining it, until it came out as you know see it. I then drilled the hole for the left side rear mount, and changed that mounting screw to a stud. All told, it took about an hour. I'm glad you guys like it. I think it turned out real good, I'm very pleased with the result.

Re: High flow cats

Lou, it's all about the Torque. And the RT's don't "rasp" with the Crawford Plenum . The RT Cats cost $500.00 through Performance Nissan, but if Crawford makes cats as well as it makes plenums, then g35hwc's got one tough decision ahead of him...
