Installed HKS Rear Section Muffler on '06 Sedan (NO 56K!)

Just bought the HKS rear section muffler from THMotorsports (THANKS!!!!) and received it today...bad timing because my mom saw and I had said I wasn't going to do anything to the G, oops (my car and I'm paying for it but they're parents, bound to happen).

I will upload a vid soon. I have to say I am VERY pleased. I don't floor it and I get people turning heads. It's a more defined sound and it's not loud to where it is annoying. My girlfriend said the car sounded louder and I acted like I didn't know what she was talking about. So it is noticeable, but she doesn't know much about cars. The beauty of it is that it looks like the stock exhaust minus the entire chrome muffler and slightly larger tips, looks sweet though. I can also feel the difference. Seems to be less pull on the car as well, a noticeable difference. Enough talk, more show!

Huge package

Tis gone!

Old muffler

Would love to have turned the car on here, just to see how it sounds, lol

Almost there, just gotta adjust

Installed

One of the hangers had to be cut and welding facing forward rather than the side in order to hang onto the hanger holder.

Looks good. Didn't you get the hanger adapter so it fits correctly on the 05/06.

No. I didn't know one was needed or existed. I don't plan on selling it so I guess it's not a big deal, but would have been better so I didn't have to have the hanger cut off and re-welded.

Yeah, it replaces the 05-06 hanger with the one from an 03-04 so you don't have to cut up the hanger on the muffler (the muffler was made for the earlier car). It's not a big deal, just a little easier. Just info for anyone else looking into doing this upgrade.

Ah, so that must be the reason why most places state that the muffler is for the 03 and 04, because of the adapter required for the 05 and 06.

Sounds good, but the muffler doesn't give you anymore horsepower. You need to go with the Stillen or Borla True dual exhaust to get any HP gains.

I really wasn't worried about HP gains. It was more for the sound. Would love to do a Borla dual exhaust. My cousin recently got one on his '90 Vette... Gonna do some engine mods though for HP gain, nothing crazy like a Vortech though.
