I found this 350evo sway bar that is better and cheaper than OEM and it looks like it clears a dual exhaust. Should of done my homework more before I bought the OEM 2nd gen one.

They also have a short throw shifter that use the stock shift ****.

I found out that the rear sway bar from the 2nd gens fits 1st gens and the 2nd gen sway bar will clear a dual exhaust. The front 2nd gen sway bar DOES NOT fit 1st gens. And the 1st gen rear sway bar doesn't fit 2nd gens. I should be good to go next weekend with the 350evo sway bar above.

Even though there is room with the stock 1st gen sway bar for a 3" pipe I like the 2nd gen just because it's symmetrical and it's a lot less work for me.

The 350evo sway bar I ordered does not have bushings and the bushing wont be shipped until the 10th so I canceled the order. I will use the stock 2nd gen sway bar.

Update on this as of last weekend. The test pipes are installed and the car averages better MPG now and there is a noticeable difference in throttle response and power in the upper RPM ranges but I wont see the full benefit of this until I complete it. The test pipes are at least 50% lighter compared to the cats. I am also hoping that I can bring the transmission down in the future without removing part of the exhaust once I complete this.

Install time for the test pipes was only 16min using a lift and a swivel socket.

I didn't get to do anything else because I did not have any stainless steel wire to weld the pipes because I switched over and decided to TIG weld it and the wire should deliver Monday or Tuesday.

looks like a lot of work man, good luck with your project.

Your soldering skills could use some practice! Get a small pencil type iron for the wiring, these connections look scary

I know it looks pretty bad but the conductivity checks out.

and the best part is that the wiring harness didn't even need to be extended because it can be pulled out from under the car through the trunk floor. I just did it because of what Tim did on his sedan not knowing that^

but the good news is that the hard work has already been done. Welding and cutting pipes to fit is actually the easy part and the most fun.

350evo sway bar came today just in time. I reordered it on Sept the 3rd. This is a lot heavier compared to a stock one. I still want to use the stock 2nd gen sway bar since the suspension is still stock.

The exhaust if finished and complete. Took a total of almost 50 hours of work and planning. All that remains is to polish it and get the bumper cutout and molded. I'll add more details later.

Gains through out the RPM range. No loss of torque that I noticed at low RPMs.

This is probably and most likely the worlds first quad tip dual 3" exhaust sedan.

Sounds a lot better after it gets warmed up. The car was down for over 2 days and that is the reason for the smoke at startup.

I plan to. I am at least 2+ years away since I have a lot of other supporting mods I need to get done first.

Wow! Awesome work with all the pics. I wish I would have taken so many over the life of my car's build.

I would almost consider doing a temp crossover pipe and making one of the mufflers for looks until you go FI. Right now I would be willing to bet you are loosing power with that large of an exhaust on an N/A VQ.

To me it feels better than before. The car does sound funny at idle since there so much room and no back pressure. It pulls a lot stronger than before especially at 5k+ RPMs.

BTW did you noticed when you were doing the exhaust on your car that the car is not symmetrical after the drive shaft. And one drive shaft is longer than the other and the spare tire well is offset to the right side. I have about half an inch of clearance with that muffler on the right side from the spare tire well. Cant use a heat shield. Have to use thermal tape.
