problem after installing samco radiator hoses
problem after installing samco radiator hoses
well after my shop did the install..........
i noticed a high pitched sound in the engine just like when you turn the A/C on full blast.......but A/C was turned off at that time as i was driving home.
then today driving to work...same sound on the engine....with the temp. guage reaching 3/4
at one time........than back to normal....
.....i was so scrared that i almost stopped in the middle of the road....
.......cruising at just 30-40mi.....when i parked my car...engine is not that hot.....no smoke..or cooking smell
i wasnt able to open the radiator cap, afraid of hot molten liquid spurring in my face
...and got no time since i had an emergency in the hospital....
thanks
fabiene

Very likely air in the system. Our cooling systems are notoriously-difficult to bleed. The process is both time-consuming and tedious. Cycle through a/c-heater-fan repeatedly. Turn off engine periodically and purge air from bleeder screw (hose in front of firewall on passenger side). Make sure coolant overflow resevoir level is maintained. Usually takes me 30-60 minutes (unless you have a special funnel).
