2 G or NOT 2 G, there is no question!

 

It allows the front two air inlets to breathe more freely. This allows more air into your engine which makes more horse power and torque. Click on <font color=red> Neffster </font color=red> which takes you to 2004 Coupe on my home page for some photos.

You can also check out this link which will show you the difference between the stock plenum and the Crawford V5 Plenum with black powdercoat. Check out photo #8 where the guy in the red shirt (me) is holding the Crawford, and the guy in the gold shirt (DED) is holding the stock plenum. Notice the slope of the stock plenum (in DED's left hand), then compare the almost flat profile of the Crawford (in my left hand).

So the plenum is just the cover.... thats it? And all you have to do is remove the old cover and install the new cover? Looks like an easy mod. Do you loose any low end torgue with this mod?

 

You gain torque in the low end and hold it throughout the entire rpm range. Did you see Crawfordz's website and dyno chart? All this mod does is allow more air to enter into the front 2 cylinders. More air into the engine is a good thing.

My suggestion is to study your shift points carefully and practice them. Yes the mods will help, but unless you're very very good racing with a stick he actually has the advantage having the automatic. Not shifting optimally and missing by even a few hundred RPM will kill your times.

Oh, and I've had my Crawford plenum on order for several weeks now. Might want to get on their waiting list ASAP.

Suggest getting the Z-tube installed asap. It adds an additional 7hp and is invisible to those that aren't familiar with the G.

Get some hi-flow cats to go along with the new plenum. The Kinetix cats look like stock.

A bit riskier move is the UR pulleys. They're a little easier to spot (especially the colored ones) but they add quite a few horses...

Also, take some air out of your tires before you race to help your launch...

You make these changes and it should be a pretty good race depending on how well you drive. If you know anyone with a timer or if you want to buy one yourself (G-Timer) I'd go out and practice launching a few times and work on your technique to get those times down and not light up those tires too bad...

04, TB/W, Nav, Aero, 6MT, Z-tube/ZWT, etc...

Plus, the rev limiter is NOT your friend. You'll definitely find it, 5-10 times in a row, if you try to launch with the rpms too high (don't ask how I know...)
