intake HELP PLZ!!
intake HELP PLZ!!
ok i just bought an AEM cold air intake system, and i was thumbing through my owners manual and came across the section talking about the air cleaner, and the manual said:
"operating the engine witht hte air cleaner removed can cause you or others to be burned. the air cleaner not only cleans the air, it stops the flames if the engine backfires. if it is not there, and the engine backfires, you could be burned. do not drive with the air cleaner removed and be careful when working on the engine with the air cleaner removed"
ok so i know you have to rmove the air cleaner to put on the intake...should i be worried? and if that part is removed, that means that the "air filter" will not work anymore right? any advice would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Ben

Re: intake HELP PLZ!!
??? I think they are referring to driving or working on a running engine with the air filter removed.
You're replacing your OEM with your CAI, and you likely won't be installing it on a running engine. No worries.
