why did service engine light soon come on?
SES Warning light....?
Strange....check your fluid levels and get your oil/filter changed if your due.
I know I have an SES light but it's never come on when I'm driving, just before I start the car. (when everything on the dash is lit up)

SES/Check is NOT a mainteance reminder.
Count up the possible codes and you will see there are 500+ possible defects tested/ monitored.
A voltage if 20% too high or low going all the way to zero on an individual sensor will set a code.
When the light comes on the least critical thing it means is the emissions are out of spec and the worst is immenent failure of a major system.
Every owner of a 1996 and later vehicle should have an inexpensive scanner and the FSM to look up the code and what to do to go forward with diagnosis.

also under low acceleration i hear a like rattle is that the transmission sounds like some metal clanging anyone else experience this. sorry to plague the boards with these ocds i have hahaha![/QUOTE]
*** about the rattle That is the rear axles, if its like a chain noise. Theres a TSB (technical service bulletin) for this just bring it in to the dealer and they will fix it under warranty, all they do is re-lube the axles.

The manual says, the first thing to do is clear the self-learning in the ECU. The car probably just has to re-learn to operate with the new intake. After clearing the ECU, it should take 10 minutes to learn. As long as nothing else was changed or damaged around the same time, you should be OK. Look at the possible causes on this page...
