what was your best irwindale time? Did you do any runs there before the 3.7fd?

9.1 w/ 3.7 in hot weather... havent gone in the winter since fd... tons of runs before 3.7 - usually around 9.2

FD get 2.1 60' off idle... been waiting for cold weather to get some better runs in... I havent run in cold weather for looong time.

Had some cold weather last night... reset the ECM, trained it, and had some fun on a late night cruise

Oh, and my car sounds so much nicer with cold air...

supposed to hit 40 tonight.

for those that were interested in pics, I didn’t have time to take any before taking the car in for install - but I did take a few of them on the motor (out of the car) and was able to get a tight shot in the collector and close ups of some on the welds to illustrate what I was referring to (in first post)... I'll post them up over the weekend.

Pics of Welds and Collector

From this thread – better discussions about the actual quality of welds going on there: http://my350z.com/forum/intake-exhau...d-headers.html

Here’s the collector - a baloney cut to mate the flow evenly wouldn’t be much trouble... I can’t imagine there is a technical reason for the tubes overlapping; I think it’s just rushed.

I posted this on Z - and am posting here... just to make clear that I'm not bashing Crawford (becasue someone over there apparetly thought thats why I posted)... ...

As for calling Crawford - I already stated that I had a quality welder look at them to make sure there was no concern of cracking or problems - and his comment was he wasn’t impressed by the quality of the welds, but the should hold up.

I don’t see a reason to call Doug - it's not as if I want to return them... I would not have chosen Crawford if I didn’t believe they were the best for the performance I'm after. I was just curious to see if others were the same. I’m a big fan of Crawford and have their HFC – I’ve recommended them several times… so this isn’t a Crawford bash.

On a side note - the fuel line had to be heat wrapped and a new bracket fab'd to keep it clear from resting on the header... The shop had mentioned a Z using these headers with no bracket and no wrap and the header burned a hole spewing fuel all over :icon9: Just an FYI for anyone installing these in the future.
