Injen Intake

Alright i was on thmotorsports and was looking in the injen intakes. There are two different intakes the sp and the race one. I think it said the the race one is for the sedan and the sp is for the coupe. Is this true cuz the racing one sounds better for performance. Thx guys. All i really want to know if both will fit my 03 coupe, thx

Researching on the Injen web site there are 2 part numbers listed:

RD 1992 is for the sedan which I guess stands for Race Development

SP 1993 which is for the coupe...

I can't find what the difference is between the SP and the RD.

You need to search on topics like these, this has been discussed many times. You will get little, if any, gains from an intake, they are mostly for noise.

Discusses yes but are there dyno sheets where people have dyno'ed the car stock and then put any CAI on to see if there any gains?

If so I would like to see the posts because I have read and read and seen lots of opinions but not a lot of facts to back up their opinions..

Some of the companies have dyno sheets and I understand they are trying to sell and promote their product but at least they have something...10 hp is not an unreasonable gain from a CAI which is what Injen claims.

You are right, here is what Injen and other companies do. They take the best run they get from their part and compare it to the worst run they get from the stock intake. If they took the average of both there wouldn't be so much speculation on the part of customers and not as much of a difference on their dyno sheets. Not many people are going to buy a $200 intake and spend as much or more to dyno it when they could spend that moeny on other parts.

What I am trying to tell you is ,if you want the part, get it. If you expect to get the gains they tell you on the website, then you will most likely be disappointed. I am sure you might see a 3-5hp gain on the upper rpm range, but I highly doubt you will see the 10 hp Injen claims. The only way to get decent gains on the G35 is to have the car tuned. If you are willing to spend the money to have it tuned after every mod, then more power to you. Most on here do all of the mods they want and then have the car tuned because they don't have the money to waste. If you want dyno runs with an Injen intake only, you are not likely to find them on here. You are more likely to find them on MY350Z.com and maybe not even over there. Good luck on what you are trying to accomplish.
