Well I finally picked up and installed the Gamma TDX catback on my '07 coupe. First off, as everyone else has said, the build quality and welds on the entire system is just great, I was getting nothing but compliments on it by the guy installing the system and a couple other WRX guys that were there.
Fitment went fine, except that the left tip is a little off to the left, but once the car is off the lift, you really can't tell, so it's not an issue.
As for performance, I had the shop dyno my car before and after installing the exhaust. I gained 12 whp and 12 ft. lbs. of torque just from the new exhaust. Numbers were taken from the highest run stock, and the highest run w/exhaust, so I'm not inflating the numbers by using the lowest # stock, and highest # afterwards lol. I'll post up the dyno sheet later, if people are interested. I can definitely feel the car pull harder now.
For sound, it's a nice deep rumble. Again, I was getting compliments from the WRX guys, and the installer (who said he hates the sound of VQ motors) really liked the way this exhaust sounded. Car sounds awesome when I step on the gas![BOUNCE](https://g35driver.com/forums/images/smilies/bounce.gif)
My only problem is that at 2-2.5k RPMs, there is an annoyingly loud droning. And by annoyingly, I mean it drowns out my music and was starting to give me a headache on my way home. I had my backseat down to fit my stock exhaust in the trunk at the time, so maybe it won't be as bad when its up. I've been reading lately people's HFC's are causing droning at the same RPMs as me. I've had the F.I. HFC's installed on my car for over a month now, but I'm hoping Tony has something in the works that can help me get rid of the droning

yea. the drone was absolutely unbearable when i first installed it. seriously needed earplugs to drive. then after a couple of days it quieted down significantly. I just traded my g35 for something else, and am currently selling this exhaust. i had it one for about a a week. i have pics of it in the exhaust section of the marketplace area on the board. check it out. Im taking offers to pick up here in Orlando.

I have the gamma and it was pretty loud for me as well at around 2500rpm. However I do have headers and test pipes, which does make it the loudest configuration. It did quiet down a bit after a few hundred miles but still a bit much for me especially when i'm cruising in the highway. I did do a bunch of things to quiet the cabin down, which makes it much more civil to ride in. I have the shockwave as well and it is night and day compared to the gamma in terms of cabin noise level.

Note:
The glass fibers packed inside the muffler take time to break in. They are coated with a hairspray like varnish that keeps the fibers stuck together during the manufacturing process.
This keeps the manufacturing process cleaner and safer when the fiberglass is handled.
After about 500 miles of driving the varnish burns off and the fibers come lose, increasing the fiber total surface area and better able to damp the sound and resonances.
