Plenum Spacer

im thinking about getting a motordyne 5/16 plenum spacer, i wanted to know is it really necessary for me to get the iso thermal 5/16? I live In the lower part of Texas btw.
Also with the upgrade iso thermal do i have to take off the lower plenum to put that gasket in?

Thanks in advance

Its not necessary to do the Iso Thermal but your plenum will run a lot cooler with it.

And yes, you would have to take the lower plenum off to install the Aramid gasket.

If you don't feel comfortable with that extra step, don't do it. You can still use the Basic spacer and get the results shown in the dyno plots.

Installation of the basic spacer is really easy. Just open up the plenum like a clam shell, slide the spacer in and bolt it back down. That's pretty much it.

I definitely agree with this statement. Once the hoses came off and the upper plenum came out the aramid gasket was an extra 5 minutes of install time. I spent more time making sure everything was clean than on the actual installation.

I'd recommend Copper ISO for all personally.

I suppose I move more than most, but I never know where I might live 5 years from now. With the Copper ISO, you install it and never worry again, regardless of whether you move or not, or sell the car to someone that lives in, or may some day move to, a colder climate.

i got my iso 5/16 coming tomorrow via fedex. take the extra time and the slight extra cost for some lower intake temps. keep that peek power longer and avoid the heat soak.

what would you say on 5/16 vs the 1/2? What's really the difference other than 2 hp? the sound? Do you not get the deep growl w/ the 5/16?

just installed popcharger, 5/16th iso kit and non rev lower today and boy what a difference, especially in the higher rpms. as for 5/16 vs 1/2, the dynos show a higher peak hp for the 1/2, but more usable power with the 5/16.
