I would love to have a quieter exhaust without sacrificing performance. It's my daily driver, so I prefer less noise. Would love to hear more about this motordyne system.

isnt the point of an aftermarket exhaust to give you some gains and a nice tone/note to your car? if even the stock exhaust is too loud.. buy a yaris..

I would do a 03/04 sedan midpipe with your current exhaust. The midpipe is larger than the one on the 05/06 sedan and should quiet it down. Then I would do the Altima FatBoy exhaust tip mod for larger tips.

Edit: link for the exhaust tip mod: https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sed...aust-tips.html

Probably get teh mid pie for less than $50 and the tips are $25 each, new. Total of about $100.

I think i've decided to leave the stock exhaust alone. It's fine for me and i have no desire to mess with it

I just changed my plans with the car. I don't wish to put any money into it. I just plan on keeping it clean and doing routine maintainence and that's all. No mods.

I have a heavily modified Mustang I'm building, so all my "play" cash goes into buying parts for that car.

Buy a Yaris? Your kidding right? Not everyone wants a louder car. I would definately be interested in a nice looking exhaust that made less noise than stock while making some gains.

When i was younger, i thought it was cool to ride around in a loud car having everyone turn their heads when I come driving by.

But then as i grew up, that all went away. For a car i daily drive in, i want something quiet, esp when i'm driving home late at night and my girlfriend is asleep. I've heard some G35 exhaust notes that I do love, but when I ask myself if i could put up with that every day, i say no.

The stock exhaust note does have a low frequency than i can still hear through the car when the windows are up. It does get annoying at times...even stock.

Still, i love the subtle exhaust note that these cars do come with stock. More than happy with it.

And to be honest, any gains from swapping the muffler only are minimal. Those who claim they get 10-20HP from just swapping a muffler have spent way too much time inhaling their own exhaust fumes

I am soo with you on this. When I was a kid, I had some seriously obnoxious exhausts and loved it. I totally understand why people want a more aggressive sound, but it's just not for me anymore.

i with you guys too, i dont want to sound like a pissed off bumble bee flying down the freeway. loud exhaust is for 8 cylinders minimum imo.

i love the tone of the stock exhaust, i just wouldnt mind it slightly louder. if there is a muffler out there that could make this car sound like a ferarri or something like that, i would prob get it with some nicer tips. but i hate that rasp sound....

what about adding high flow cats to stock exhaust? Would that make it a little bit louder, but with same chracteristics and no drone?

you either like the stock exhaust or put up with the fact that other aftermarket exhausts are louder. Just because an exhaust is louder than stock doesn't mean it's going to sound like a fart can.

IMO, just get a good set of HFCs (FI, Berk, Crawford etc) and the 350z HR Y pipe and call it a day. The Y pipe will smoothen out your exhaust note and the HFCs will give you whatever sportiness you need without being intrusive.

There are only two exhaust systems that I know of that meet that description.

1) Motordyne VQ
2) Fujitsubo

Of these, the VQ is the quieter of the two.

For the sedan, the borla td system is very quiet and closest to stock sounding, only deeper. Swap the premuffler for a magnaflow x muffler and it sounds very simmialr to a coupe.
