Attention California Drivers and Enterperneurs during these economic times become a paid informant for CARB. Turn in your enemies and ex's with headers, illegal cats and test pipes and illegal mods.
All they need is VIN and Tag # to open a file for inspection to check.
You can be paid up to 10% of up to $10,000 fine as a finders fee, earn points with law enforcement to protect yourself in future.
Once you develop a track record you become a Federal Witness [Clean Air Act] and even threating you becomes a Federal Crime. So sign up today.

I couldn't resist.

how do you suspect they track down the vehicle?... Can you imaging the wild goose chase a bunch of CARB inspectors would be on if this was true... now there's a good way to spend tax payers $$$ during these tough economic times - hell the state cant even refund my $34 - and you think they will send out inspectors for every yahoo that says some guy is running hfc

Actually if its true there will be a grass roots effort to thwart the wasteful attempt by boatloads of people reporting tons of VIN #s (with stock cats) throwing inspectors in a tizzy wasting time, resources and money that will result in a public outcry from the wasted expenses and the whole thing will completely blow up and ruin future budget funds for legitimate concerns…
WOW! That’s the longest running sentence I’ve ever written in my life!

The Air Resource Board has already poured sh!tloads of money into clean air programs that include $1.25K (each) LNG trucks being handed to qualifying trucking companies – these trucks are partially paid for by your tax dollars… If people knew how much money they spend on ludicrous crap – all but the tree huggers would want to lynch the turds that propose much of this stuff. The general public doesn’t even realize much of the propaganda about eco and clean air cost more and pollute as much as what they tout they are fixing. It’s all bogus and nothing more than justifying state funded departments so they can keep an income.

i am a somg tech. in california and i will tell you this, its big buisness. they(b.a.r./c.a.r.b) get paid big bucks to reduce the amount of pollution in the air. the bigger the drop, the more cash they get. so if you ding bats are running around dumping polluntants into the air by wanting to go fast and modifying your car to do so, they're going to have an issue with that. i heard were going to have to start smogging diesel's soon, and OFF ROAD VEHICLES. so you wont even be able to install test pipes ever again on, or off road. i personally think as long as what comes out of the tail pipes is clean, who cares. ive smogged cars with hfc's and they've passed the emissions test. but like i said its politics and its big money, sucks for people like us.

Obviously you don't understand that filing a false report can cost YOU!
Notice I stated " reliable trusted informants" who report and agree to accept personal penalties if they prove out WRONG.
The same way a citizens arrest works you can be held to a personal crime and civil liability if the courts don't uphold your arrest.

The Feds, IRS, DEA and State are experts with drug snitches and lie dectors. Once you are a proven informant then the money comes and escalates the more successful cases you produce.

They can't legally make you smog an off road vehicle..

If it doesn't drive on the street it doesn't have to be registered and can be used anytime you want on private property.

This is ridiculous, the random tech cats I had on my 2000 prelude came out to be like 30% cleaner than stock smog specs, and came with a carb number. Why can't they do the same for our cars? What are these HFCs you guys speak of that are legal for 03 and 04?
