What is this piece found behind the muffler? Went to dealer and the parts guy told me it was not originally found on 03's, but was added onto 04's and up despite same exhaust set up.

A local mechanic dented mine while attempting to jack the car up from there, so now I'm thinking of either buying another one (anybody have one for sale) or just omitting it.

 

Shield for your exhaust so if you hit something low it would hit that instead of your muffler me thinks.

 

Either what he said (^^^) or maybe a way to make that massive muffler a little more aerodynamic.

LOLZ; It is a spoiler for your exhaust.

 

its a rear mounted turbo ...i still have mine laying around like said above it just protects ur muffler from dents, dings and etc.
