Somehow I don't believe your friend, either the 911 was sick, our the 911
pilot wasn't serious about trying to beat someones sedan....that's my guess!
I've driven/sat in the shotgun seat of several Porche 911's and they're
bloody/scary fast....

early 2000s regular 911s are not that fast. They are mid 13 cars at a very good day. Turbos are different story...
