Re: UnlimitedTuning Y-Pipe
I still like the look of this Y-Pipe the best. I "think" the air flow might be less obstructed without the two ~90 degree bends.

CAn someone who has changed just the y pipe comment on the gains and sound? I will not change the cats or muffler but would consider this.

Give me a couple of days as I have surgery today (will need a couple of days to recover). I plan on doing an install as early as Saturday/Sunday.
In the meantime, IM AL503. He installed the JIC Y-Pipe about 2 months ago and has posted his results on here and FA.

Re: UnlimitedTuning Y-Pipe
Have you removed your res in the exhaust system? I got mine cut out and replaced with a straight pipe and the resonates like carzy between 1800-2300. Its maddening. The power increase was nice but....I need to get something put in and I think I might do the Y-pipe at the same time. Ultimatetuning does not show the Y-pipe shown. In fact most of their site seems to be coming soon?

sixfive,
I put the JIC y-pipe in a couple of months ago. To be totally honest, I didn't notice a difference in the butt dyno. If anyone can feel a ~5 pony bump, then kudos to them. I couldn't.
I also did not notice any difference in the sound. I was expecting something in terms of either tone or total db's but I did not notice a thing.

i have the fuji y-pipe for a couple of month now. love it. definitely changed the sound. took the raspiness away at around 2,500 rpm, actually sounds quiter and a little deeper in that rpm range at least from the inside of the car. from 3,000 rpm and up, it is a bit louder than stock. to me it is just perfect. it is what i was looking for, stock sound note but a bit louder. as far as power gain, who can feel 5 - 10 hp gain, come on guys be real. i think since it is louder the brain says it is more powerfull...lol. not planning on doing a dyno either. i am very happy with the way it is. i think anything over 200 hp is plenty for my driving skills. drove it at the california speedway this past weekend, passed an rx8 with suspension mods on the banking even pulling away on the tight infield. that's good enough for me. not bad for a completely stock coupe with 15,000 miles on the original michelins....LOVE THIS CAR!!!

Re: UnlimitedTuning Y-Pipe
I didn't notice any "hp" gains from my Z-Tube and JWT P/C and I kinda' felt some very slight gains from the next mod, the RT Cats (mostly throttle response, not acceleration); BUT I really felt the gains of the Crawford Plenum (my last mod). The dyno stated I gained 21 bhp over stock, so I agree that 5-10hp is really tough to feel. Plus the Plenum probably unleashed 75% of my total gain, allowing the cats and intake to really do their job.
This is why I wonder how some people can feel the hp gains due to ________ _____ (you fill in the blank) when they gain 0-5 hp depending on what you insert into the blank(s).

Remember, this is what your oem Y-pipe actually looks like underneath the heat shields. Not a friend to flow AT ALL.

If you have oem pipe diameters down stream of the Y-pipe seek out the Kinetix Y-pipe.

If you have or plan on having larger 76.3mm piping down stream, go with the Jic Y-pipe

Re: UnlimitedTuning Y-Pipe
The question remains, how much will the unlimited tuning Y-pipe sell for? Speculation is, it will not be cheap. Looking at both designs, I think the Kinetix version will flow better.
