Perfomance chip questions...

I have a 2006 G35 coupe and I want to get a very good performance chip. I'm not really familiar with all this stuff so I was hoping someone could help me find a good one for my car. Also, I called up a car place and they told me if I get a performance chip, you need to buy a new cold air intake and new exhaust, is that true?

The answer to the question "Can I chip my car without any other mods?" is "Yes"! But, you will not see tremendous gains by reprogramming the vehicle alone. I recently had my car flashed with Osiris software (Up-Rev) by my local tuner (James Henson @ Henson Performance) and though the improvements are noticible I wouldn't call them earth-shattering. That being said I am interested in plotting the benefit of each modification with stock and tuned parameters and as such I figured why not go ahead and have the tuning done. I have not had time to get on the dyno yet but I will in the next few weeks and I will be happy to post graphs so you and other can see the difference made on a car with tuning alone.

The things that I noticed with the new tuning are better responsiveness, smoother power delivery, and a "perceived" power increase in mid to high range RPM. I appreciate the benefits and look forward to adding more mods that will work in tandum with the software in the future. I hope this answer helps. Let me know if you have any further questions!
