Ok. As far as the drone. I noticed it, but my wife doesn't. And that is saying a lot. She hated the exh. on my last car. She is very critical of the "noise" that my exh. systems make. An she hasn't said a word about this one. I think we put over 100 miles on the car this weekend. So I would say it passes the wife/girlfriend test.

You can carry on a conversation. And with the radio on volume level 5 or higher you can't hear it.

since I've installed my ZTube/Popcharger and spacer, I don't even listen to the radio that much.. LMAO.. I LIKE listening to my engine.. (prolly like a lot of us)

I've heard the note is changed too because of the xpipe configuration as opposed to the stock y pipe.. The note is actually deeper.. I am also getting some Berk HFCs as well.. I can't wait..

I think I'm still sold on the Fast Intentions because it's the sound I'm after.. I'll deal w/ the drone.. Just wanted to make sure it's not TOO annoying.. I only drive around 37 miles a day anyway.. It's garaged after that

04 w/ only 42k miles on it.. my BABY!!!

I don't know what you guys are talking about, but I don't think this exhaust drones at all. It's only drones a bit when you're accelerating through 2k-3k rpm. Cruising, I think it's only a tiny bit deeper than stock, and if you turn on music just a little bit, you'd never even know it's there. Of course, I have stock cats, so I'm sure with aftermarket cats/test pipes the exhaust is bound to drone much more.

This exhaust drones pretty bad at 2-2200 rpms!! 5at's are worse than 6mt's, with my TP's sometimes i can't even talk. but freeway is pretty quiet!!!

That's my experience as well. On the highway it's fine, but around town it drones pretty good. On the weekends I don't care, but during the week when I need to be on the phone for work it can be annoying.

The droning doesn't really seem to be rpm specific though. At least not to me. I can be cruising on the highway at the same rpm as I am around town and on the highway it's fine, but in town it's loud. I think it depends on how much load the engine is under. On the highway the motor is just chugging where in town I'm accelerating through the gears.

Nothing on the exhaust. I have a Z-tube and drop in filter, but that won't really change anything. I'm thinking about HFC's, but I really don't want the exhaust any louder then it is. Don't get me wrong I love the way it sounds and would buy it again in a heartbeat, but I live in my car and on my phone during the week and sometimes it's a bitch to hear who I'm talking to. I'm sure spending the last 20 years in the car audio business has made me a little deaf as well so that doesn't help any.

I just installed FI HFC's and absolutely love them... I've been practically sitting around all day thinking up excuses to go drive somewhere LOL

I JUST had my FI exhaust installed yesterday....here's my verdict...I had the Berk HFCs first for about 3 months.

Loved the sound combined with my HR Y-Pipe. I came across a great deal for the FI exhaust and pulled the trigger.

Yesterday morning, the seller and I installed the exhaust. After everything was said and done, I can tell you this combo is louder than stock.

Not Honda civic fart can loud but deep bassier exhaust noise. Fast Intentions exhaust does have the exotic sound everyone claims of course however it does drone some.

Since I'm 5AT, I use the sport shift 99% of the time. I can shift around it some to offset the noise.

My verdict may be different from most people because I ran into some problems getting my exhaust to the point it is now (see my other thread).

Overall, I think my exhaust sound level would be reduced if I ran it with stock cats. I doubt I'll switch back to stock cats just to see for myself though.

As for me, I really love the sound of the stock exhaust combined with my Berk HFCs and HR-Y pipe combo. I think that sound is sex.

I'll try this exhaust out for a while to see how I like it and if I can sort out the kink I ran into yesterday.

I'll come back to this thread at a later time with an updated verdict

yeah. I thought they just bolted directly onto the cats... but you're saying you've got berk HFC's and a HR Y-pipe... Is that a custom job?
