from my understanding the xpipe of the catback system replaces the Y pipe configuration.. That's where you get the change in the exhaust note.. They should bolt into the HFCs.. that's correct.

He gave me a tentative ship date of April 30-May 6; so around 2 weeks? Tony also told me that very soon the summer rush will be starting and they'll be 6-8 weeks out.

No. I had the HR Y pipe with my stock exhaust. The FI exhaust replaced that portion as well. Its X pipe bolts up to the HFCs. Sorry for the confusion.

Update....

I just reread my last post and went eeerrrpp...wait a sec...I meant to say I replaced my DE y pipe with the HR one a few months ago as a mod. I ran that with my stock midpipe, axel back and Berk HFCs.

As for the F.I Intimidator, I've had this exhaust about 3 weeks now and can say its quieted down a lil bit. Drone is still there in the range posted before but the sound is pretty damn good.

I get nothing but complements all the time. I won't go into detail but all I can say is, even though I have it listed for sale, if no one picks it up for a while, I'll have no issues holding on to it.

For me, that says a lot

Update. After 6 weeks of driving the exhaust has "broken in" and the sound is awsome. the drone is all but gone. As soon as I get a free day I will do my DYI for the install.

sorry to bump an old thread but how many miles did you put on before the drone went down. I just got it and its killing me so far in that 2k-3krpm range. I try to shift around it but I'm 5AT and its not always as easy.

It took me around 1000 miles IIRC,,, but it was when I got tuned that it really brought the sound out

It took about 1000-1200 miles for it to stop droning.

I just got mine installed. Only put 30 miles on it and the drone is killing me! I sure hope and pray the droning dies down after 1000 or so miles. I love everything else about it, except I wish I got the all stainless rather than spend the extra on the carbon fiber mufflers that can't really be see under the car.

TBH it doesn't die down you just get used to it. I don't even notice it anymore. But then again I don't take my car for drives longer than 20-30mins. When I had to drive for an hour it gets annoying ie I have to use manumatic to keep the rpms above 3k.

Do you by chance have test pipes/HFC? I think they amplify the drone.

CRAP! Didn't want to hear that But, I appriciate the feedback. I've got a nice stash of sound deadening material and will pad the trunk and see how that goes. My daily commute is short, but I do take 50-60 mile trips 2-3 times a month. Unfortunatly, engine is completely stock. I guess I'm getting old because the drone is really bothering me.
