my timing is proly off. i will try your suggestion guys and use a stop watch, or a wall clock so i can see the seconds arms properly. LOL
btw, i did the ECU reset (SES light goes away) successfully after the 3rd time. But it turns on again after several miles of driving, because of hihg idle (code P0S07)

Take a look here:
http://www.technosquareinc.com/350reset.htm
You need to go through the Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning and Idle Air Volume Learning (Throttle Position Learning).

The trick is the timing.
That procedure in that link is in the FSM and can be found in many places on this and other sites... I'm pretty sure most of the guys in this thread have it.

I did the procedure like 100 times...each time I know that I did it correctly. I couldn't get it to relearn.
I took it to the dealership and they couldnt get it to relearn.
Put my friends TB in...worked perfectly the first time. Replaced it and haven't had any problems with the new one.
(I bought one from www.rockauto.com because it came with a warranty)

OMG, i finally got it! After roughly 40-50 times! I dunno how I did it, but after the final step of the procedure, I restarted it, and viola , from 1400rpm to 600rmp idle. just got back from testing it at the 405fwy for about 10miles, I gunned it and damn, I'm so friggin happy! No more high idle, and no more lag!

I've cleaned my TB a few times now and never had a problem witht the idle. I don't disconnect the battery or connector to the TB and I manually move the throttle plate while cleaning. It's odd some can get away with this and some can't. Different TB makes maybe?
And yes, the idle relearn procedure is hard to do. It took me about 15 trys to finally get it. When your warm neutral idle is a stable ~600rpms, you'll know you've gotten it. Make sure to do the procedure on a fully warmed motor!

My personal experience is from the idle relearn and TB cleaning on a 3.5 Altima. Never done it with a G35, but when I was successful with the relearn it lasted only about 50 miles, then started idling high again. would relearn the idle again and once successful had the same end result. Ever since then, I wouldn't dream of moving the throttle plate on the G35 but it is interesting how some are much less sensitive than others.

thanks, I was really frustrated. I even called the dealer and made an appointment yesterday morning. Good thing I was able to get it right before my appt on Friday. Wohoo, Im so glad!
Next time I clean my TB, I know now how to do it the right way.
1 - unplug battery
2 - unplug TBA
3 - start cleaning
Oh, and TwilightBlue, I've driven my car (hard and normal driving) today aprox 80 miles and still running good! Hopefully it will stay this way.

I clean it everything I remove the plenum or TB for projects... no set mileage, but I end up doing little tweaks every now & then so I clean the TB at that time.

EDIT: Just cleaned the TB since I was changing the air filter anyway tonight (with a Nissan OEM filter after reading the recent thread) - pretty straightforward. I disconnected the harness to the TPS while cleaning and I moved the butterfly a lot to clean it out. Reconnected everything and idles just fine at 650-700 without any resets or throttle learning procedures.
