Re: NISMO vs. FUJITSUBO

Those tips are the Fujitsubo? Damn, those are way too huge for my tastes. I didn't want something any larger than what I already have which I already think are a little too big, but the rounded edge sort of mellows out the size.

Re: NISMO vs. FUJITSUBO

Ugh, me like 'em big sewer pipes.

Big tips, good!

Them go good with big rear tires.

Look pretty!

Re: NISMO vs. FUJITSUBO

couldnt tell ya that one. thats a question for eS-.

i personally like the large tips they fill up the 2 semi-half circles very well and look really nice in person.

forgot to add that eS- had the borla td before he got the fujitsubo. thats why its a question for him.

Re: NISMO vs. FUJITSUBO

Exactly. I want sleeper, not fart. I suppose I'll need to budget for a shop to cut and weld the OEM tips, if that's possible.

Re: NISMO vs. FUJITSUBO

-Fish,

If they see you from the rear, you're pulling on them pretty hard. That means "the jig’s up" buddy , sleeper or not. I guess it just comes down to whether or not you aesthetically like the larger pipe diameter tips. According to SMS (Esemes), the Fujitsubo Legalis Exhaust, is quieter than the Borla unless you're at WOT! (This is exactly what I want, considering I have wife and kids in tow relatively often.)

Also, I plan on going with larger 19x9.5" rims and 275/35/19 Toyo T1's (sometime in the next 6 months), probably BBS-RGR's, but think the exhaust will look PERFECT with the wider tire stance.

PiminPearl (Josh) has a "show car" with an Injen exhaust and 10" rear rims on 275/35/19 Toyo's. Check out his pictures and see how the rear tires look compared to the exhaust tips. While your at it, check out his stereo, TV install, etc... (plug plug)

Re: NISMO vs. FUJITSUBO

Can someone explain the "y pipe"? I know this is a newbie question, but the first post i believe mentioned the fujitsubo with the y-pipe. Thanks.

Re: NISMO vs. FUJITSUBO

y pipe is the first pipe coming out of the cats.. it looks like a y... hence the name... the y pipe connects together then going into a midpipe then into muffler.. unless u have a true dual design which then coudl be an H or X pipe design..

Re: NISMO vs. FUJITSUBO

ahhh ok, thanks for the info. One more question if you could. So if you get the fujitsubo, you HAVE to get the Y-pipe? Or does the coupe already come with one and they are just selling a better quality one? THanks again absolut, i'm still learning about exhausts.

Re: NISMO vs. FUJITSUBO

ths fujitsubo exhaust is a lot more free flowing then the stock exhaust.. if you do a search on y pipes i believe they have comparison pictures of aftermarket y pipes vs then stock one.. it becomes quite obvious when you compare the two up close.. most people only get fujitsubo without y pipe because of the price.. the y pipe itself is around 400 dollars.. so people just use their stock one which also fits perfectly

Re: NISMO vs. FUJITSUBO

Or they get the Fujitsubo Exhaust w/o the "Fujitsubo" Y-Pipe, because the "JIC" Y-Pipe is the same price and "appears" to be more free flowing.

See the photo above (JIC Y-Pipe) and the photo below (Fujitsubo Y-Pipe)...

Re: NISMO vs. FUJITSUBO

And here's the Fujitsubo Y-Pipe... See how there appear to be 2 approximately 90 degree bends in the Fuji- Y-Pipe set up. Fluid flows best in a straight line. The more abrupt the angles are, the more "losses" are encountered in Bernouli's Equation. Oops, I'm getting all Physics 102 on you.

Re: NISMO vs. FUJITSUBO

Yikes, this is my first ever triple post... Don't shoot me please.

-Fish,
check out this image. See how small the stock exhaust tips look with wider wheels. I think the sewar pipes will work out nicely with wider tires.

Re: NISMO vs. FUJITSUBO

Ahhhh Bernouli....the biggest lie in Aviation. Newton got screwed on that one.

In any case, I shouldn't say fart, to each his own, but I drive my car to a Fortune 100 company every day and sometimes take high level people in it. The last thing I need is for them to see two giant cans sticking out the back. I also want to feel free to mock the Civics with coffee cans and if I had anything larger than stock I'd feel like I've lost that right.

I look forward to the review Neff.
