NISMO vs. FUJITSUBO
Re: NISMO vs. FUJITSUBO
You guys and your pipes....
What do you expect to gain? There is a miniscule difference between the flow through a 90 degree bend and a straight pipe at these diameters and flows. Probabaly not even measurable.
It's plain silliness I tell ya.
I guess it will look cool to the guy you run over, but I'd rather have dual.

Re: NISMO vs. FUJITSUBO
okay.... let me reply now
firstly, the fuji IS more volumeous than the borla....
its is also WAAAY quieter tan the nismo (although fuji makes the nismo pipes, as well as several other biggie jpn exhausts)
the Y pipe will mate up to the stock exhaust, but will create a big 'step' or overlap from the differing ID's (interior diameters), so you'll need a stepped insets to make the transition, if (for some reason) you decide to not change out the remainder of the system....
the pic shown (bulletproof?) is NOT the fuji Y pipe for the g35 coupe... not sure if it's the Z's pipe, or what, but i have the fuji Y-pipe, and it is different than that with a performance enhancing cross-tube balancer pipe joining the dual channels, midstream...
as for which is better, well, only a dyno will tell, but keep in mind this too.... the flow of exhaust also needs to cancel out sound waves that can/could reverb backwards, causing performance loss..... just because one has a lessened bend than the other isnt gonna be the true yardstick for measuring this either...... its more of what these y pipes do to the tumbling and flowing exhaust gasses, as the Fuji seems to allow them to run nicely parallel before union... the JIC dumps them into each other at a different approach angle.... (better or worse, i dunno!!)
which is better?? i dunno nor do i really care... i just wanted to clear up the misconception of the angle of the bends being the telltale factor of the true performance (again, theres no cross balancer in the jic pipe as well).....
so, my vote is for the fuji (obvious by now, eh neff!?!), the whole system, with crawford cats IS getting a bit deeper & meaner with the added miles on the car too.... (cats have stopped smeeling like burning fertalizer, and emit a very clean, non-offensise smell, UNLIKE my helix testers did (ughh.. they were aweful, with black smoke covering the bumper at idle)
i even backed into a low curb, 0mph ± (solid conc) with them, and took a CHUNK of the curb off in the process (was sitting nicely inside the sewerpipe, waiting for me to blow it out, boost style!!lol
i might be modifying my fuji midpipe soon, in attempts to make a few changes in flow, but all - in all, i prefer it over the borla (not to take away from that system, but it wasnt what i wanted to use for my blower, thas all)
happy hunting; check in here with your best price AND esitmated time of delivery (eight weeks i waited.... then installed it within 20mins of getting the box off the truck!!lol)
heres the fuji, revealed...

i love the tips... since they are still like stock, they really dont stand out that much, to the untrained eye.......

Re: NISMO vs. FUJITSUBO
Esemes,
What a beaut!!!
I've got the Sedan version ... the muffler isn't quite as elaborate, being a single outlet design.
BTW ... I've curbbed my tip by accident and was shocked at how robust the darn thing is. One particular race morning, my car was complete loaded down with gears and being an additional inch or so lower for my race setup ... I managed to back into the asphalt while backing out of my garage. I was tuck for good. It took a 3500rpm clutch drop to get her out. I'd figured the tip was more of a 'D' than an 'O' by that point. Took a quick look for damage assessment and was happy to see everything was fine except some very minor scratch at the bottom face. It simply scooped up some chunks of asphalt like raisins. Wow!

Re: NISMO vs. FUJITSUBO
Well, as DED would say, "the aliens have better things to worry about like grounding wires and such". LMAO!

Re: NISMO vs. FUJITSUBO
With all this discussion about the nismo vs. the fujitsubo exhausts does anyone have any sound clips of either? I would love to hear both before choosing? Also does anyone know if there is a nismo exhaust made specifically for the g35 coupe yet? Thanks
Re: NISMO vs. FUJITSUBO
im getting the FUJITSUBO exhaust .. i to had a really hard time deciding on which exhaust to get .. i am getting the FUJIT w/o the "Y" pipe for now
, im planning on buying later , but i chose the FUJIT because i liked the tip size and it looks stock (cops wont know it aftermarket hopefully) and i heard FUJITSUBO is one of the loudest exhausts around and louder @WOT <--- but that is what people say ... overall i think the FUJITSUBO looks the best but this is what i just think so please no flame :P ....

Re: NISMO vs. FUJITSUBO
Here are some sound clips, however they are from a 350Z' I wonder if the sound would be the same for our coupe? Can some NA Fujitsubo Legalis-R owner tell us if it sounds the same or not? Thanks in advance.

Re: NISMO vs. FUJITSUBO
Which of these 3 exhaust the Borla , Fuji and Nismo do u think give the best performance? I dont really care about the sound. I just want to know which of these 3 exhaust performs better??
Re: NISMO vs. FUJITSUBO
From what I've read it seems that the Fuji and Nismo have more consistent gains through the RPM range. Borlas max gains are higher but are limited to the high end of the band 6k RPMs+ and it actually showed losses in the low end. I am going with the Fujitsubo because I love low end torque and I'm not interested in giving up any. Plus I hear the sound is pretty awesome.
I wish I could find the thread that had the dynos that showed this, but I can't. Maybe someone else knows where it is.
