P1283 code

Can you get a p1283 code from an exhaust leak? I had the code come up when I had an exhaust leak and had my xhaust redone and the light was gone. 3 weeks later it came back on but I do have a new leak they need to fix prob crap welding because its new piping from the cats back. Any advice

I never had the code come up until the exhaust leak but I did change the cats but not the o2 sensors is there anyway to narrow it down. It says sensor 1 bank 2

P1283 P1273 fix

Little late however for anyone currently experiencing this code figured I post.

P1283 turned out to be a mixture of things. Faulty fuel injectors bank 2 & A/F sensor 1 bank 2. Disregard OBD11 tests, as sensors can still be clogged even though ECM is reading proper fuel delivery. DTC detecting condition states - bank 2 shifted to lean side for specific period. Meaning your code is popping up sporadically. I swapped fuel injectors and it got rid of P1283 then PO174 popped, and that was A/F sensor. Changed that and bank 2 is no longer running lean.

Conclusion - P1283 with aftermarket headers can have something to do with A/F sensor. NOTHING to do with HFC. Can try defoulers on headers or swap for higher quality 02. ALSO it would have to do with fuel delivery so I would check fuel injectors/fuel rail/fuel damper for any clogs.
