Fujitsubo ??

Well i am planning on getting an exhaust this week and these are my choices .. 1 - Fujitsubo w/o "Y pipe", 2 - Injen Ses, 3 - Greddy Evo 2, 4 - RSR exhaust.. but the thing is i wanted to know will i get good gains from the Fujitsubo if i do not get that "Y" pipe ?? is it worth getting just the exhaust ?? ... i cant get the "y" pipe because i dont have that much money... and if the fujitsubo isnt worth getting unless i get the "Y" pipe which exhaust should i go for.. i am looking for sound and performance but looks to count some what .. and to the people that have the Fujitsubo can i see some pictures please !! .. please someone help me decide which exhaust to get i need help !!!! thanks a lot guys

Re: Fujitsubo ??

IMO, you'll probably get more gains (albeit we're talking 2-4rwhp) from a Y-Pipe alone. Exhausts can be over rated. If I were you, having limited funds, I'd get either the JIC Y-Pipe or the Fujitsubo Y-Pipe and hold off on the exhaust until you have more money.

Then again, if you want a true dual exhaust I'd just wait as the cheaper ones start around $600+ (Injen) and go to over $1200 (Stillen)

Re: Fujitsubo ??

If you were to add just the Fuji y pipe to the stock exhaust what kind of difference in sound could you expect?

Ivory Coupe 5AT
Z tube, K&N drop in.
Crawford Plenum and Fujitsubo Exhaust soon to come...

Well the ones you have listed are all upwards of $800. You can find a complete cat-back nismo system (nearly identical to fujitsubo) for less than $800 if you are willing to shop the secondary market.

Re: Fujitsubo ??

Nismo is about 8" shorter than the fujitsubo (because 350X is 8" shorter than the G35 coupe). You will need to get a 6" extension to extend the midpipe length so that the hangers will align with the G35 mounting locations. The Nismo tips are much smaller in diameter and will be 2" shorter than the fujitsubo, thus the tips will be tucked under your diffuser. Some people like this, I don't. Reminds me of the old Wendy's commercial, "where's the beef?" except, "where's the exhaust tips?".

The stock exhaust is almost perfect for ideal hp/tq, so why are you looking into changing it? If you want hp/tq gains, leave the midpipe and muffler alone. Plenum, intake, cats, y-pipe are all the greatest places of restriction. Headers and muffler on the stock G are seemingly well designed.

IMO, the only good reason to change the stock exhaust is to change the tone of your car and to "maybe" gain +/- 5rwhp at redline... which equates to absolutely NOTHING!!!

Re: Fujitsubo ??

uuummmm, whenever Performance Nissan gets them in stock, ships them out, I get one installed and drive to and from work for 1-2 weeks (to let 'er break in properly). I'd say mid August if I'm lucky...

Re: Fujitsubo ??

Sorry -fish,

The only thing sitting in my den is the JIC Y-Pipe. I've got an order into Performance Nissan for the Fuji- exhaust and am expecting it on/around the end of July. With any luck it'll arrive as I get back from vacation (I'll have 5 days off to install it myself, with the help of the DIY on G-Owners.com).

It's funny, but it seems as if you guys are more anxious for me to get this thing on my car than I am (I guess that happens when you are not really expecting any gains out of it, just sound change. -shrug)
