Noise on HFC install

Hey guys so i just put in some in some kinetix HFC but i just noticed im getting a weird noise around the 2300k RPM. It sounds more like a little rattling im guessing rasp? sound. I have a magnaflow exhaust and 1/2" spacer and the Kinetix HFCs. I also have an AT coupe. If you guys can give me just a heads up whats prob wrong or if its just normal rasp?

Sounds like you have an exhaust leak...gasket or something leaking at a joint is my guess.

Although, with cats (if they are used) sometimes they can blow out and you will have rattling.

I also have the 5AT and have drone around 1600-2000 rpm's but drone is a lot different than a rattle.

Did you do the install yourself or have a shop do it? Either way check all the bolts to ensure they are snug and your exhaust is not rattling/hitting anything under the car.

I bet its like vrrooooommmmm psssssttttttttt

Its a common issue with test pipes and HFCs on our exhaust. Do a search. There are countless threads about it. Basically its the sounds of the gases flowing through the exhaust which our cats usually muffle.

When you remove the cats more gases flow through the exhaust and you have the hissing sound.

My stock exhaust + HR Y pipe combo gained hiss sounds when I added my Berk HFCs.

When I eventually switched to FI Intimidator exhaust, the hiss went away.

does it sound like my car? ^ if it does then its the heat shield, i also just had kinetix HFCs installed, and my heat shield is getting either cut or completely removed next week.

it sounds like yours but your last from like 2200-4k. Mine only lates from like 2300-2500...You still think it may be the heat shield? Actually it can also be my gaskets i will check it once again actually....

on my car it doesnt seem to matter what RPM im at, it seems the faster i accelerate the more it rattles. if i accelerate slowly then it wont do it no matter what RPM im at, even when im stopped and i rev it i cant here it rattling...so it being the heatshiled made sense to me because depending on how fast the acceleration is the greater the force is pushing the heatshield back towards the HFC which makes a rattling sound.
