Is the z tube really worth it?

Just wondering...I've always expressed some interest in doing a cheaper-than-CAI mod to my G (aka z tube with K&N drop-in) but is it really worth it? This isn't a matter of price, just in general. I have a few friends with 350Zs and I can easily get my hands on one, so accessibility isn't a problem either.

I also considered a pop charger but I think that might be a little more expensive than a drop-in. This video:
makes it sound like there's a decent difference...and my friend's stock Z does sound louder than my car. Does anyone wish they hadn't done it?

Matt

The Z-Tube is really only good for sound. It does nothing positive power-wise.

No, it hasn't. Trust me I'm the guy who always tells people to search.

Sorry but the Z-tube's "worth" had been taked about 742398672986592387528572375023757 times. You're obviously not searching enough.

Yes it has... "Which intake is better?" has been covered enough times to have two threads a day. "Is the Z-Tube worth it?" "Where can I get a Z-Tube?" "What does the Z-Tube do?" and others has been covered about as much too. And you'll see me in every thread saying something like I just said up above.

As for the intake, a drop in would be the best choice for power. Cold air intakes are worthless on this motor as the stock intake box already draws in cold air. Not to mention that the temps will vary, and the longer piping is all bad on not just the response, but the power curve too. As for the short rams, they become less effective as it'll see more heat soak even though there are systems like the JWT or Stillen that utilize the cold air scoop. All in all, an intake won't make that big of a difference on the VQs unless you have a turbine forcing more air in somehow. In most cases, you're losing power where you want it most.

Searching enough? I searched "z tube" for about 5 minutes...that's long enough. I'm not looking through threads for 30 minutes when I can easily get some personal opinions.

But my question was answered, so thank you everyone else
