Port and Polish Plenum Assembly
How did you remove the plastic part of the TB? It seems like the rivits don't come off. I would be excited to see how you did this.
Tools
Any chance you could expand on the methods used. I see what could be a dremel or air die grinder in one of the pics, but would love to know your tools of choice. i Kept th elower plenum off my 04 when I wrecked it and now I want it on my 05. It is definately rough. I will be NA for a while, so this is a cheap mod. I was FI before, and a little casting roughness wasnt an issue I suppose. Since I have it out of the car and I can do it in my spare time, I could do it over the holidays.
Happy Holidays and cheer!

SxExCx: I drilled out the rivets, then tapped the throttle body to use some bolts to hold it back together.
thephoneguy: mmm I used some sanding disks on a die grinder to get off most of the casting marks, used the dremel for the tighter spots... after getting it smooth and level I did alot of the contouring by hand sanding.

lol you can paint with rattle can "the right way" as long as you know how.
this is rattle can paint, but its been applied properly. It's also duplicolor which is automotive paint so it's pretty hard and resistant to the elements.
I first applied a metal etching primer
then applied a regular sandable primer
then three basecoats of paint
and three coats of candy red
all cans were shaken for 5 minutes then heated to 80F and shaken for another minute before being sprayed.
all metal surfaces were thoroughly cleaned with acetone before being sprayed.

We need a final shot of the top plenum installed though.
